Hello,

I’m Pascal Bourque, an independent developer in Québec, Canada. My first iPhone app, DutchTab, was on the App Store the day it opened, in July 2008, under the Polkapps name. It’s still the name I put on the apps I make for iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch and Apple TV.

Every one of them started with something in my own life: a weather station in the backyard, a budget in YNAB, merge requests at work, a stack of mechanic’s invoices in the glovebox and, lately, the character sheets at my game table. Each time, I wanted a better app for it, so I built one.

Vehicare just arrived on the App Store. The newest, Ratcatcher, isn’t there yet, but its public beta is open if you’d like to try it.

You already have the paperwork.

Vehicare turns the invoice your mechanic hands you, whether it’s a PDF, a photo or a scan, into a complete service history without typing. Then it works out what’s due next from what was done and how much you drive.

  • Your data is yours. I never see it.

    Invoices are read on your device by Apple Intelligence. Everything lives in your own iCloud. No accounts, no trackers.

  • No subscription. Not now, not later.

    Free for your first vehicle. One payment covers every vehicle you own, on iPhone, iPad and Mac.

  • A real Mac app.

    Not a phone app in a window: a menu bar, a table you can work in, an inspector, and Continuity Camera to scan an invoice with your iPhone.

A bill splitter for friends or coworkers. It worked out who owed whom from what each person ordered and what they put in, so whoever had cash could pay without ending up covering for those who didn’t.
